Illuminated Eye Chart
The new Illuminated Eye Chart from Gulden Ophthalmics is a versatile patient testing tool that finds utility in eye care professionals’ offices or as a portable illuminated, battery operated eye chart that can be transported to patient locations.
In the office, the unit is simple to mount to a wall or other vertical surface using two screws or it can be used on a counter -- powered from a 110 or 220 Vac electrical outlet. It can also be transported from one location to another to function in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, patient rooms, school nursing suites, and many other places utilizing readily obtainable batteries or line power.
Being illuminated, the eye chart can be used in a darkened exam room, patient room, or virtually anywhere, regardless of ambient lighting conditions. With its illumination, its brighter, more visible chart helps enhance the accuracy of the eye test. The chart is calibrated to be viewed at either five feet or twenty feet, making it handy for offices and health suites as well as the more confined spaces found in a patient’s room.
The illumination is especially useful when examining the eyes of elderly or low vision patients. The light source is a CFL 6 watt long-life lamp at operating at a 6500K color temperature. The unit is powered by four AA batteries or line voltage (110 or 220 Vac). Its viewing area is approximately 5” x 7” (14 x 18.4 cm) and the overall dimensions are 7.8” x 9.5” x 1.0” deep (19.3 x 24.0 x 2.6 cm).
