Operation   The Optiflex™ Surgical Assistant is an electro-mechanical system. Unique manual and powered controls deliver a fine focus capability that ensures the lens is optimally positioned for the finest imaging. Reinverting Operating Lens System (ROLS®) The ROLS unit is the most technically advanced panoramic viewing system to provide reinverted images during vitreoretinal surgery. Available in powered or manual versions, the powered version is operated with a Foot Switch. A ROLS+ reinverter (manual only) delivers the added benefit of decreased working distance when performing vitrectomy. Used when switching between a plano/concave lens to a wide field indirect lens, the decreased working distance promotes a more comfortable working position.

Power Supply:   The power supply is the primary control unit for both the OptiFlex™ Surgical Assistant System as well as for the automated ROLS® option. It connects to most worldwide AC power supply systems with appropriate regional cable type. Specify country for correct power cord and plug when ordering.

Foot Switch Assembly: The foot switch is an IPX8 rated device (rated for direct immersion in water), making it suitable for use within an operating room. A single pedal footswitch is standard to operate the focus adjustment. If ordering a powered ROLS®, a dual footswitch is provided.
