The spot size setting of the SLA is conveniently shown on both the selector dial and on the laser console status display. Spot sized are factory calibrated to ensure the diameter of each spot is within specification.
- IRIS Medical SLAs feature parfocal adjustment of all spot sizes for precise focus and uniform energy distribution. Parfocality ensures that the treatment beam is focused when the aiming beam is in focus.

Power is factory calibrated on all SLAs to ensure that the power density is within specification at each spot size. Maintaining consistent power at all spot sizes is especially important for subthreshold treatments such as transpupillary thermotherapy ( TTT ) which may be sensitive to changes in energy dose. |

Optimized for large spot, low irradiance treatment of choroidal neovascularization (CNV) in age-related macular degeneration ( AMD ) and intraocular tumors such as small choroidal hemangiomas, choroidal melanomas, and retinoblastoma.
